Gathering of Digital Missionaries and Communicators in Argentina: Human Voices and Faces to Share God’s Message

The International Meeting of Digital Missionaries and Communicators will take place at the New Schoenstatt Shrine (Florencio Varela) on June 6 and 7, 2026. Organized by the Schoenstatt Communicators team, the meeting aims to create spaces for reflection and formation regarding evangelization in the digital culture. The initiative will bring together digital missionaries, influencers, pastoral leaders, and church communication teams from 10 countries in the Americas in a space for discernment and training to respond to the challenges of the present.

The proposal stems from a central conviction: the digital world is not merely a tool but a cultural sphere in which the Church is called to proclaim the Gospel. The digital mission is understood as a pillar of contemporary evangelization, since millions of people engage daily with social media and virtual environments. In this context, the Church seeks to reach out to those who live connected, using accessible, meaningful language.

Communicating the faith in the digital world constitutes a prophetic mission, in which creativity, training, and spiritual life come together to permeate culture with the values of the Gospel. The challenge is not only technical but also pastoral: to accompany a changing era and to show a Church that is alive, young, and capable of engaging with the quests of today’s world.

Speaking the Language of Others

The event will feature Monsignor Lucio Ruiz, Secretary of the Dicastery for Communication, who has been working alongside the organizing team, contributing his guidance and pastoral vision.

“Being a digital missionary means speaking the language of others, being in the places where others are, going to the spaces where they are, with their dynamics, because it is important, as at Pentecost, not only to preach, but for them to understand us and then open their eyes. Let us be a Church that goes forth, so that many may receive the message of Jesus.”

These words from Monsignor Ruíz, addressed to the Schoenstatt communicators present at the Jubilee of the World of Communications in 2025, reflect the growing ecclesial awareness of communication’s importance in the mission. On various occasions, Pope Leo XIV has also encouraged communicators to be witnesses of hope and closeness, reminding them that Christian communication must “touch the heart and foster encounter,” inviting them to proclaim the Gospel with truth and charity amidst the new languages of our time.

Mission: Reaching the Soul

The event also includes a pre-meeting on June 5 to welcome participants, followed by two days of intensive work, featuring training sessions, spaces for dialogue, and moments of prayer. Pastoral workers and communication professionals from various countries are expected to participate, giving the event an international and synodal character.

Among the guests are digital missionaries, community managers, influencers, and community leaders who wish better to understand the pastoral value of a social media presence. The intention is to create a space for exchange where concrete experience is combined with theological and pastoral reflection.

“Reaching the soul is the mission,” say the organizers, summarizing the spirit behind the event. It is not just about producing content, but about accompanying processes, listening, building community, and opening paths of meaning in the midst of people’s daily lives.

At a time when digital communication permeates all areas of social life, the Church seeks to renew its presence and language, aware that the proclamation of the Gospel today also occurs on screens.

In that spirit, we invite you to join the International Meeting of Digital Missionaries and Communicators in Nuevo Schoenstatt, a new opportunity to renew our missionary commitment and strengthen communion among those who evangelize in the digital realm.
