The Schoenstatt Movement celebrated a Requiem Mass for Pope Benedict XVI in the Church of the Holy Trinity on Mount Schoenstatt in Vallendar. In his homily, Father Lothar Penners briefly reviewed the life of the Pope Emeritus, highlighting his humility, warmth and his theological contributions to the Church.
Pope Benedict has passed away. We as Church mourn him. He was a very special and close friend to Schoenstatt. He appreciated our charism and mission for the Church, accompanying us in a fatherly way and feeling very much loved and supported by us.
