22 people who fled the war in Ukraine, find in Schoenstatt a place of peace and warmth where, in the midst of their terrible anguish and fears, they can try to rebuild their lives.
We pray for the elderly, who represent the roots and memory of a people; may their experience and wisdom help young people to look towards the future with hope and responsibility.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, the eve of the Orthodox Easter, about 120 people, including refugees from Ukraine, hosts, volunteers and some who were interested, gathered at the Schoenstatt Pilgrims’ House for a get-together during the afternoon.

A few days after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Kisszelmenc became one of the escape routes. The village has only a few hundred inhabitants. Overnight they found thousands of people on the streets trying to enter the European Union territory. The village came together to assist them.
Several Schoenstatt Fathers’ and Sisters’ centres in Poland open their doors to refugees from Ukraine fleeing the war.
Now Sisters of Mary and other Schoenstatt communities in Schoenstatt, the place of origin, are preparing to welcome people from Ukraine as well.
