On Thursday, March 30th, the diocesan phase of the process of beatification of the Servant of God, Father Hernán Alessandri, who died on December 18, 2007, was officially opened.
The synodal journey of our Church challenges us to rediscover the richness of the first Christian communities, in which the experience of community was fundamental, not only because they “held everything in common “, but also because the inner dynamism, discernment and decision-making were the fruit of community work, which the pastors directed and coordinated.
On March 25, the blessing of the foundation stone of the Shrine of Maringá, in Brazil, a city 650 km. west of São Paulo, took place. The Mass was presided by Bishop Severino Clasen and was attended by about a thousand people. The Schoenstatt Institute of Families will be the legal guardian of this new Shrine.

The General Presidency of the Schoenstatt Movement extended the General Statutes of the Movement for another three years and announced the evaluation and revision by the Movement’s International Coordination. New Helvetia, in Uruguay, is the first Schoenstatt daughter Shrine where Our Lady chose to descend, just as she had done in 1914. It is located in Uruguay, 60 km. from Colonia del Sacramento and 17 km. from Rio de la Plata. It was blessed on October 18, 1943, during the Second World War, while the founder was behind the electrified wires of Dachau. October marks the 80th anniversary of its blessing.
