The Schoenstatt Movement commemorated the 55th anniversary of Father Joseph Kentenich’s death with two activities on September 14 and 15, 2023. ” Father Kentenich possessed a fatherly heart full of love, and a filial heart before God the Father,” said Father Eduardo Aguirre, postulator of the cause for the canonization of Father Kentenich.
“They choose Father Kentenich as a model for their own lives”, stated Sister M. Adele, at the end of the 30-year cycle in which she was responsible for Father Joseph Kentenich’s Secretariat. Sister Gisela-Maria Mues has now been given this assignment.
Fr. Eduardo Aguirre, postulator of the cause for the canonization of Fr. Joseph Kentenich, founder of the Schoenstatt Movement, celebrated a Mass on September 15 in the Original Shrine of Schoenstatt, in Germany, where the movement was founded in 1914. The celebration took place 54 years after the death of the founder. The date coincided with the liturgical celebration of Our Lady of Sorrows.

Within the framework of its 2022 Annual Conference , on May 6, 2022, the Joseph Kentenich Institute (JKI) extended an invitation to a Workshop held at the guest quarters and conference center on Mount Moriah. Professor Dr. Joachim Söder, from the Catholic Faculty of Aachen, North Rhine, spoke about the status of the research work on the historical-critical edition of the so-called “Epistola Perlonga”. He has been working together with Professor Emeritus Dr. Manfred Gerwing, from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, for some months now on this edition.
