Schoenstatt Family in Corrientes
The week of September 11th will forever remain engraved in the Schoenstatt Family of Corrientes as the most important milestone in its history. The long awaited Daughter Shrine, for which so many generations have made contributions to the capital of grace, has finally become a reality.
The celebrations began with a triduum of preparation on Wednesday, September 7, in Tierra de Maria, the grounds where the Shrine is located, in Corrientes Capital, Argentina. During three days, and under different mottos, hearts were prepared in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Mass.
Schoenstatt Communities present
Little by little the arrival of a large number of pilgrims became more evident. About 3,000 pilgrims from different parts of the country and from nearby countries such as Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay were present, including members of the Sisters of Mary, other Schoenstatt communities and numerous priests. On Saturday, September 10th, the picture of the Blessed Mother, which would be enthroned on the day of the blessing, made its last tour through the streets of the city in an endless caravan that culminated with a multitudinous consecration to the Blessed Mother on the same street before entering the grounds amid applause, smiles and tears of hearts overflowing with joy.
Solemn Vespers
Later, after the solemn vespers, beautiful songs sang in honor of the Blessed Mother would prepare the hearts for the Holy Mass and the blessing of the tabernacle.
And the great day arrived! Early on Sunday, September 11, the Schoenstatt Family gathered in the large grounds of the Police Cadet School of the Province of Corrientes for the celebration of the Eucharist, which was presided by the Bishop of Corrientes, Monsignor Andrés Stanovnik and concelebrated by the regional director, Father Alejandro Blanco, the national directors of the Movement: from Argentina, Father Pablo Pérez and from Paraguay, Father Martín Gómez, and other priests.
The picture of the Blessed Mother was then taken on pilgrimage to Tierra de María for its enthronement and the blessing of the Shrine..
The Mother Thrice Admirable of Schoenstatt has now her Throne in Corrientes!
