Pope Benedict XVI, Our Friend on Earth and in Heaven
Pope Benedict has passed away. We as Church mourn him. He was a very special and close friend to Schoenstatt. He appreciated our charism and mission for the Church, accompanying us in a fatherly way and feeling very much loved and supported by us. Here is a brief review of that fraternal relationship between Pope Benedict and Schoenstatt.
‘The Lord’s birth is the birth of peace’
In his traditional Christmas Day message, Pope Francis underscores how Jesus’ birth shows us the way to peace in our lives and our world, and encourages us to contemplate the face of the Child Jesus and be deeply moved by God’s love, so that peace may be born in our hearts and shared with all.

In view of the serious situation in Ukraine, many people and organizations are helping those living in Ukraine as well as the refugees. Among those helping are Schoenstatters, both in Schoenstatt itself, as well as in other places. We share here an account of the efforts of the Schoenstatt Fathers in Poland assisting refugees in their own home.
The house where Joseph Engling was born recreates history for visitors
Father Kentenich said of Joseph Engling that he was the living Founding Document of Schoenstatt. He lived the Covenant of Love with Mary with heroism. The house where he was born and his school, located in Prosity, Poland, are historical places that we can visit and where one can even stay. A new edition of “Joseph Engling Info-Brief” is being published.
‘Celebrate Christmas with people of Ukraine in our hearts’
At the conclusion of the General Audience, Pope Francis calls on everyone to renew our closeness to our Ukrainian brothers and sisters who are suffering greatly, to help them with humanitarian aid and keep them in our hearts throughout Advent and Christmas.
