Service at the Croatian National Shrine
After two weeks of pastoral work at the Croatian National Shrine of Maria Bistrica, Father Horn was deeply moved by the feast of the Assumption. Thousands of pilgrims came, seven large Masses were celebrated at the pilgrims’ square and long lines formed in front of the confessionals, where a total of 15 to 20 priests heard confessions.
Life in the two Schoenstatt shrines
The 12th anniversary of the blessing of the Schoenstatt shrine of Mala Subotica, Queen of Hearts, was celebrated on the eve of the feast of the Queenship of Mary. The crowning of the MTA by the Archbishop five years ago was also joyfully commemorated.
Solemn installation of the Father Symbol in Ivanovci
After years of spiritual preparation, the Father Symbol was solemnly placed on the altar of the Schoenstatt Shrine in Ivanovci on September 18. During the Mass and the celebration, the faithful expressed that they felt the presence of God the Father’s love and warmth very closely. The profound testimonies about the experiences with this Father Symbol by the members of the Movement, the numerous spiritual gifts and the intentions carried in jars turned into a profound experience of faith. The good weather and the subsequent gathering in a warm family atmosphere helped to make the day even more enjoyable.
Covenant of Love’s fire in many parts of the country
The visits to the southern part of the country, to Bosnia-Herzegovina and to the Franciscan monastery in Humac delivered quite a surprise. The Franciscan priest there – the first time a non-Schoenstatt priest was involved like this – had prepared 14 people for the Covenant of Love, which they sealed on that day with great joy.
A month later, Father Horn was able to witness 11 other committed people solemnly sealing their Covenant of Love with the Mother Thrice Admirable after the parish Mass in Sibenic. Among them was a family with three children. The oldest one prayed the consecration prayer of the Schoenstatt Boys’ Youth. The 23-year-old medical student wants to commit himself to the establishment of the Schoenstatt Boys’ Youth in his area.
Pilgrim Mother Day
The Pilgrim Mother Day took place in Dubrovnik, on the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea, where many gathered in joyful communion. It was truly special being able to witness how once again 12 individuals sealed the Covenant of Love, visibly expressing their trust in the Blessed Mother and the Triune God and their collaboration for His Kingdom.
Father Przemek from Poland
For the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, young Father Przemek from Poland was able to go to Croatia, where he stayed for three weeks. He had been given permission to work in Croatia for one month a year, especially with the male youth. In Mala Subotica he expanded his Croatian studies with a professor, then presided at Holy Mass in the Schoenstatt Shrine for the first time and met with some of the youth.
We congratulate Father Christoph Horn, who was able to celebrate his silver jubilee – 25 years – as a priest on October 30th in Quarten, Switzerland, with a one-year delay because of the pandemic. His speech was based on this year’s motto of the Schoenstatt Family in Switzerland: “Shaken – sustained – moved”.
Novena to God the Father
Father Horn has composed a novena that aims to help in experiencing the relationship with the heavenly Father in daily contemplation and in prayers to God the Father. It will be presented on Radio Maria Schweiz this fall and winter.
