The Auxiliary Image “Queen of the New Evangelization of Europe” visits Poland

Sr. M. Damiana Czogała

On September 8, 2012, the president of the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, crowned our Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen and Victress of Schoenstatt, as Queen of the New Evangelization on the Auxiliary Pilgrim Image for Europe. Since then, the image has been on pilgrimage through the European countries where the Pilgrim Mother Apostolate is present.

She has made several pilgrimages to Poland; the last one was in 2017, when she visited the parishes where the Pilgrim Mother Apostolate is active. Following this visit, many new pilgrim circles were formed.

On the occasion of the grand celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Pilgrim Mother Apostolate in Santa Maria (Brazil), European representatives renewed the 2012 coronation at the tomb of the Venerable Deacon João Luiz Pozzobon. Following this ceremony, the Auxiliary Pilgrim Mother image once again set out on its journey through Europe.

Until March 14, she visited more than 15 parishes and branches of the Archdiocese of Wrocław

After she visited Belgium on January 20, 2026, she began her journey through Poland. Until March 14, she visited more than 15 parishes and branches of the Archdiocese of Wrocław, where she visited many circles as the Pilgrim Mother. Most of these circles were formed after the Queen’s visit in 2017. In total, there are about 130 circles, each consisting of ten families who receive a visit from the Pilgrim Mother once a month.

The Queen of the New Evangelization of Europe is met with great commitment from the parish groups of the Apostolate, which operate under the guidance of their coordinators. On the occasion of her visit, they organize, with the special dedication of Mrs. Barbara Daniś, prayer vigils in churches, participate in the Eucharist, engage in adoration, and pray the Rosary and the Way of the Cross for Europe. They also gather in their homes to pray. From their hearts springs an unceasing prayer for Europe, for peace in the world, in our homeland, and especially in our families.

The Queen, under the sign of the Auxiliary image of the Pilgrim Mother for Europe, visited nursing homes and institutions for children with disabilities. She brought them joy and peace.

She visited the parishes of Kostomłoty, Sobótka, and Wierzbno, in Wrocław (Parish of Divine Mercy) and (Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows), in Wołów, Cerekwica, Trzebnica, Bagno, in Wrocław (Parish of St. Boniface), in Strzelin, Bożnowice, Siechnice, and in Kiełczów.

In the parishes, she was received very warmly, including the following words:

“You come to us as the most perfect among women, as a tender and faithful mother, as the one who teaches the beauty of service and the power of love… Teach us courage in daily life, patience in the face of difficulties, and the joy of being a gift to others. Stay with us, Mother, and guide us along the path of the Covenant of Love toward your Son.”

The Queen of Europe is also venerated in prayer outside of churches: in homes, where parents of a child with cancer, the elderly, and entire families pray in the presence of the Pilgrim Mother.

In Trzebnica, the Auxiliary Image was placed on the altar near the tomb containing the relics of Saint Hedwig of Silesia, where perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held.

The Queen of the New Evangelization of Europe also accompanied us during the Schoenstatt Family Prayer Night at Jasna Góra in Częstochowa. Here, at this Marian shrine, the heart of Poland beats.

Members of the Pilgrim Mother Apostolate carried the Queen during the Way of the Cross through the grounds of Jasna Góra. 3,500 people accompanied them. The Marian Way of the Cross we are witnessing, filled with testimonies of life, allows us to feel the closeness of Our Lady of Sorrows on our path—that journey in which we encounter the cross in our lives. From the cross and from the one who stood at its foot, we draw strength for every difficult moment.

Until the end of April, the Queen of the New Evangelization of Europe will be visiting our country. She will then continue her journey through Germany to Switzerland. May many people experience the blessing of her visit, and may Europe, thanks to her, find peace and reconciliation.
