After a long process of discernment, the General Congress of the Institute of Diocesan Priests of Schoenstatt elected its new General Leadership this Saturday, February 7, for the next six years.

From left to right: Fr. Frank Blumers, Fr. Gilbert Ndayishimiye, Fr. Dr. Marcelo Cervi, Fr. Alejandro Zelaya, Fr. Stefan Keller.

The following were elected:

General Rector:
Fr. Dr. Marcelo Cervi (Brazil)

General Head of Courses:
Fr. Alejandro Zelaya (Argentina)

General Councilors:
Fr. Frank Blumers (Germany)
Fr. Gilbert Ndayishimiye (Burundi)
Fr. Stefan Keller (Germany)

We entrust the new Leadership to the prayers of all, that it may guide the community with “a heart that knows how to listen” (cf. 1 Kgs 3:9), docile to the will of God and attentive to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit.

Tomorrow, Sunday, February 7, at 5:30 p.m. (local time in Schoenstatt), the Holy Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at the Institute’s Father’s House, officially marking the beginning of the new General Council. The Congress continues until February 12.

Nos cum prole pia benedicat Virgo Maria.
