This Monday, October 13, we celebrate the fifth day of the novena leading up to October 18, Covenant of Love Day. As an international family, we prepare to renew our covenant and our surrender to the Blessed Mother.
Today’s reflection will be on the life of Max Brunner. The young hero of the founding generation of Schoenstatt was characterized by his joy and love for the Virgin Mary. He died on the battlefield during World War I, and today his remains are buried behind the Original Shrine, in the Monument to the Heroes.
It is precisely from this place that Fr. Felix Geyer, director of the Schoenstatt Movement in Germany, prays this day of the novena. Fr. Geyer tells us more details about Brunner’s life and challenges us to follow in his footsteps in this new generation.
