The city of Santa Maria (Brazil), cradle of the mission entrusted to Venerable John Luiz Pozzobon, is immersed in preparations for a historic moment: the International Encounter of the Apostolate of the Pilgrim Mother and the celebration of the 75th anniversary of this work of evangelization, which will be held from September 9 to 14, 2025. It was here, in the simple streets and humble houses, that the “poor pilgrim” began his journey with the image of the Mother and Queen on his shoulders, bringing comfort, faith, and hope to so many families, hospitals, schools, and prisons while praying the rosary.
Now, Pozzobon’s footsteps resonate once again. Churches, streets, and the city’s gymnasium are being transformed to welcome missionaries and representatives of the Apostolate from all continents.

Final phase of preparations
According to Sister M. Rosequiel Fávero, head of the Secretariat of Santa Maria and of the organizing team, preparations are in their final phase: “We are finishing the texts for the experiences, the Masses, and the thematic workshops, and we are already receiving the first materials that need to be translated. In addition to the official languages of the meeting (Portuguese, Spanish, and English), we will also provide translations into German and French so that we can welcome especially the group from Burundi, most of whom speak this language.”
Every detail is being taken care of: the preparation of the kits, the decisions about meals, the hiring of services, and the structure for broadcasting the celebrations and activities, so that everyone can follow this historic event. These are the challenges that arise when preparing such a large event. “It has been a journey of trust and many contributions to the Capital of Grace,” says Sister M. Rosequiel.

Expectation for many activities
The program will include highlights that will include a musical and activities in the Fourth Colony*, which will bring together culture and spirituality. Despite the challenges, what is for sure is that it will be unforgettable, the fruit of dedication and love for the mission.
The city that saw the birth of the Apostolate of the Pilgrim Mother is preparing to experience days of blessings and fellowship, welcoming pilgrims from all over as members of the same family gathered around the Blessed Mother.
The organizing team of the International Encounter also informs that companies and individuals who wish to support this celebration as sponsors can contact them via WhatsApp at +55 (55) 99980-8524 or by email at maeperegrina75@gmail.com.
The events and schedules that will be broadcast live will be published soon so that everyone can follow them.
*The Fourth Italian Immigration Colony is a region located near the municipality of Santa Maria. There you will find the municipality of São João do Polêsine, where John Luis Pozzobon was born.
