On October 4th, a special day for the international Schoenstatt Family because it commemorates the day that Joseph Engling offered his life, there will be a special event in the Original Shrine. For the second time in a row, the Brazilian singer Ziza Fernandes will be performing the “Serenade for Mary”.
Playing the piano and singing in front of the MTA image, Ziza will interpret songs in several languages. Interacting with the public is also one of her trademarks.
Everyone is invited to participate either in person or online. The Serenade begins at 8:00 p.m. (local Schoenstatt time) and will be broadcast on Schoenstatt TV and the Shrine’s webcam. Click here to access.
Singing to our Mother
This year, Ziza Fernandes will introduce some pieces from her recent album “Coração Errante” (Wandering Heart).
She is a graduate in Psychology, music therapist, speech therapist, composer, teacher and writer. She was responsible for the whole musical direction of the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro/2013. Her career spans 30 years and she has released dozens of national and international albums, books, DVDs and courses.
Ziza got to know the Original Shrine during a tour in Germany. On that occasion, she received an invitation from the rector of the Shrine, Father Ignacio Camacho, to perform a Serenade for the first time. She accepted then with great joy and today she says: “To be in the Original Shrine is a grace that goes beyond me, it is an experience that interweaves my history. My purpose with this serenade is to honor our Mother with all the beauty that I can transmit”.
