Coming up in August: International Youth Pilgrimage in Schoenstatt

Giovani Hubner Manosso / Karen Bueno

All young Catholics around the world are likely already familiar with World Youth Day (WYD). It is a massive event in which the Church offers, every four years, something special: the grace to celebrate and worship God in communion with thousands of people—so different, yet united by faith and shared experiences. This year, the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement offers an opportunity that, although radically different from WYD, is prepared with the same spirit of fraternity and universality in faith and youthful enthusiasm.

“Take courage: I have overcome the world!” (Jn 16:33): this is the motto of the 2026 International Youth Pilgrimage, which will take place in Schoenstatt. Young people from all over the world are invited to participate in this day of celebration and thanksgiving, which will take place on August 15.

Spreading the fire of the mission

Throughout the day, the event’s organizing team hopes to offer fuel—or rather, “kerosene”!—to expand the fire of faith, love for Christ, and the bond between the youth.

There will be not only music and adoration, but much more. We will hear the testimonies of several people—consecrated persons, priests, laypeople, and young people—who seek to attain “holiness in daily life,” following in the footsteps of Christ, formed by Mary, overflowing with a committed, joyful, and faithful living out of their faith and vocation.

And at the center of all this: Jesus in the Sacraments, especially in the Eucharist, which we will solemnly celebrate as the cornerstone upon which we can build wonders and truly “conquer the world.”
