FJK Covenant of Love Group of Silence and Prayer

In January of 2017, during a Schoenstatt leader’s meeting in Guayaquil, Ecuador, we asked ourselves: What can we do in order to accelarate the canonization process of Father Kentenich, our Movement’s founder?

Inspired by an experience of a Prayer Group of Padre Pio, on March of the same year, the FJK Covenant of Love Group of Silence and Prayer emerges, guided by the hand of our leader Sr. Montserrat Darquea. This group was shaped as an apostolate that would encourage Father Kentenich’s Secretariat in Ecuador, and whose main objective would be to offer prayer as a contribution to the Capital of Grace for the canonization of Father Kentenich. We wanted to beg for a miracle together!

What is it about?

This group is active using WhatsApp and it has very clear rules of silence which must be followed by all Schoenstatters or pilgrims who want to be part of it.

Every day, the group’s members receive:

Several prayers written by Father Kentenich in Dachau, and the Gospel of the day.

The Canonization Prayer (which includes a link to a digital form in which you can submit the petitions and acts of thanksgiving that Father Kentenich has interceded for you)

Since May of 2019, we have been receiving the audio recordings of the Sunday sermons given by the Schoenstatt Fathers in Ecuador. The diocesan priest, Father Leo Di Carlo from Argentina, also sends us refletions which encourages the group to remain faithful in prayer and in our mission to help canonize Father Kentenich.

With the help of Father Eduardo Aguirre, postulator for Father’s canonization cause, our prayer group began in Spain, thanks to a petition sent by a family that surrendered the health of their little son Alvarito, suffering from cancer, to the care and intercession of Father Kentenich. This stream began to grow and today the FJK Covenant of Love Group of Silence and Prayer is actrive in nine countries of Latin America.

Currently, we are over 1,000 Schoenstatters belonging to this group, the majority of them residing in Spain, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Ecuador.

Together we offer minutes of adoration, prayers of the Holy Rosary, prayers for the canonization of Father Kentenich and we also report in the chat and using the digital form, when a request has been heard through the intercession of Father Kentenich.

Thousands of people on all continents have already welcomed the Pilgrim Mother. Now the Blessed Mother wants to come to your area, to your parish, into your home. Are you ready to offer her shelter on her journey? Are you willing to be her instrument in bringing Christ’s blessings into our world?

At the moment, we have offered more than 12,000 adoration hours, more than 13,000 prayed Rosaries, 1,000 prayers for Father Kentenich’s canonization, and more than 800 prayers have been answered thanks to the intercession of our father and founder.

All these reports are offered every 18th of the month in the Covenant Mass in our many Shrines as a contribution to the Capital of Grace and they are also given to Father Kentenich’s Secretariat in Germany as a contribution to the canonization process.

“We have to have in mind that a miracle is neccesary for Father’s canonization, no one can “organize” a miracle, we can only implore it.” Throughout this time, we have experience that through prayer and our daily encounters with our father and founder, we feel confident asking for his intercession on our physical, spiritual, emotional, and material needs. We feel united as one family in our father’s heart!

We want to invite you to unite our strength, just as we are united in prayer in several countries; we invite you to become part of our Prayer Group.

Our longing is that in each country where Father’s family is located, a prayer group may be born, allowing the entire Schoenstatt Family to join in prayer for Father’s canonization, for the needs of our Family, for the Church and the world.

“Mobilize the omnipotence and goodness of God! How? Through a simple prayer! God has promised special graces to the community that prays. ‘For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.’ (Mt. 18,20) If we implore something as a community, God can not resist.”
