World Meeting of Families in Liebfrauenhöhe.
The 10th World Meeting of Families convened by Pope Francis will take place from June 22-26, 2022. In contrast to previous meetings, this year’s event will not only be held centrally in Rome, but, at the Pope’s request, also in a multi-centered manner in the dioceses of the world. The Schoenstatt Family in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart has taken up this request and cordially invites you to the World Meeting of Families on Sunday, June 26, 2022, in Liebfrauenhöhe near Rottenburg.
The 10th World Meeting of Families should have already been held in Rome in 2021. However, due to Covid-19, it was postponed until June 2022. The meeting will close the Year of the Family, which began in March 2021.
In a video message on July 2, 2021, Pope Francis expressed that “the meeting was perceived before as something distant, followed at most on TV and unknown to most families, but in this way it will provide a providential occasion to create a worldwide event that can include all families who want to feel part of the ecclesial community.”
Call to holiness
The Pope’s motto for the multi-centered World Meeting of Families is: Love in the family – a vocation and a path to holiness. It should be a feast of families, a feast of communion and encounter, a day of joy and togetherness. Couples and families of all generations are invited to participate.
At the Schoenstatt Center in Liebfrauenhöhe, on Sunday, June 26th, the encounter will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a family Mass and will conclude around 5:30 p.m. with a sending forth in the Schoenstatt Shrine. There will be time for participation, testimonies, and exchanges. A separate program for children and youth will be offered during the themed portion of the day’s program. Of course, food and drinks will be available. “We would be happy if as many families as possible would register as soon as possible and bring couples and families with them,” the Schoenstatt Family League planning committee in the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese stated.
So that the expectation and joy may grow
“Everyone is called to care for family life with love because families are not a problem, they are always a gift and an opportunity for the future,” says Pope Francis in the first of a total of ten “Pope videos” that have appeared or will appear in the period leading up to the World Meeting of Families. With these videos, he wants to embark on a “journey” together with families. The goal is to rediscover together the amazing beauty of being a family. The leaders of the Schoenstatt Family Movement, who are preparing the event in Liebfrauenhöhe, invite you to join this event and to prepare for the World Meeting of Families.
