Annual Schoenstatt Youth Camp in Nigeria
In Ijokodo, Ibadan, through the Schoenstatt Father, Fr. Paul Nwachukwu, a program of “Education and Formation for the Transformation of Nigerian Society and Beyond” was created. This program is focused on Youth (male and female) both Catholic and non-Catholic.
The activities carried out are:
Social and moral education
Spiritual and psychological education
Community and volunteer service, such as cleaning up dirt in the streets and educating people about the need for a clean environment
Schoenstatt’s pedagogy for education and formation is applied in all activities and programs. Through these activities the young participants, 100 to 150 annually, are introduced to the Schoenstatt spirituality and many have sealed their Covenant of Love with Mary in the Victory Shrine.
The courses generally last one week and are financed so far, it is basically with sponsors. We have 8 volunteer collaborators.
