A sign of hope, from the Original Shrine

Fr. Ignacio Camacho

For over ten years, the campaign “A star for you” has been held from the Original Shrine at the beginning of Advent.

What is this campaign about? It is about being able to come together in prayer from the Shrine for all our loved ones.

The idea is to write the name of a person (or persons) on the card and deposit it, in person or through the networks, in the Original Shrine. It is a gift that we can present to people who need our solidarity and prayer.

This year the campaign is highlighted by two elements.

Pilgrims of Hope

The first one is the beginning of the Holy Year. On December 24, Pope Francis will open the Holy Door in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. In doing so, he invites us to become “pilgrims of hope”.

It is precisely during this time of Advent that we want to go on a pilgrimage to the Shrine. It is there where Mary wants to offer us her Son, our true Hope.

We are all Schoenstatt

The second element that accompanies this time of Advent, and this “Act of the Star”, is the campaign “We are all Schoenstatt” which was launched last October 18th. What better time than Advent to be able to meet and feel as one large Family from the Shrine! To be able to pray for one another.

I invite you to pray for all the initiatives that are emerging in different Schoenstatt Families for this Christmas and to find a way to join a fundraising or prayer campaign that will be carried out in each one of our Shrines or Wayside Shrines.
