Schoenstatt on the go

the apostolate of the Covenant of Love

This apostolate was born in the Women’s Branch in Guayaquil, Ecuador, with the help of the graces received at the jubilee of 100 years of Schoenstatt. One of our group members from the Women’s Branch is also a member of a Beneficiary Society of Ladies, that has seven schools under their administration.

Our group name in the Women’s Branch is “With Mary, faithful pilgrims, heavenwards.” In the Family Branch, our group name is: With Mary, faithful pilgrims, as a family, heavenwards.”

We are currently 22 people participating in this apostolate, and the workshop about the Covenant of Love is held by the ladies responsable of the seven schools in the Beneficiary Society of Guayaquil.

We all work as volunteers and we finance ourselves with donations from each of the group members.

It all started when a member of the Women’s group told us she wanted to unite many hearts to what was special in her heart. Thus, she gave us the idea to give these workshops about the Covenant of Love to the youth in the schools, we all joyfully accepted the idea.

As previous experience, we had already been preparing some of our own service staff with these workshops, people who work in our homes, with our families and friends.
Once the doors where open for this oportunity, in the year 2014, we were able to prepare 600 students in the 10th grade for the Covenant of Love.

Six years have passed in which we have been able to bring the Covenant of Love to these young people, and their response is incredible! We see this as a blessing from God and as the Blessed Mother’s wish. Each year we are able to prepare between 500 and 600 students to seal the Covenant of Love.

During these workshops, we work hard to create a beautiful atmosphere, bringing with us: pictures of our MTA, of Father Kentenich, of the Shrine, the Unity Cross, a candle, flowers, Power Point Presentations, a snack, etc.

Since we go to the school and give our first talk, until the day of their Covenant of Love, these students are moved with what they learn. You can feel the love of the Blessed Mother alive in their hearts. Many feel identified with Father Kentenich and they are often moved to tears when they get the chance to write their letter to the Blessed Mother.

The day of their Covenant of Love is filled with joy and the Holy Mass in which the Covenant takes place is a moment where many are specially moved.
Many Schoenstatt Fathers and Sisters of Mary are very happy with the outcome, and agree that this is God’s will.

United by the love to our Blessed Mother and to the mision given to us by our father and founder.

“Mary sign of light, sign of combat, sign of vitory” JK
