Schoenstatt Mothers’ Federation
For and with Each Other
A journey in community, a journey in covenant with Mary, a way to a “life in fullness” (John 4). This is what constitutes the Schoenstatt Mothers’ Federation. It is one of the core communities of the international Schoenstatt Family. Members are married women, including those who are childless, widowed, or separated.
The community was founded in September 1950 by Father Joseph Kentenich. It is currently in the process of international extension which is expected to be completed in 2022.
The women receive inspirations for life from the faith-filled spirituality of the Schoenstatt Movement. Members strengthen each other through a responsible in, with, and for each other in a family-like community.
The members are united by the covenant of love with Mary, which helps them to live their baptismal covenant and the sacrament of marriage.
The Schoenstatt Mothers’ Federation is present in 10 countries.
Beginning in Germany, there are Schoenstatt Mothers’ Federation groups in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, South Africa, and the USA.
